       The SRMD consists of medical directors from each health jurisdiction within the southwest Ohio public health region.  The group meets annually and communicates frequently to develop protocols and standing orders for the response to public health concerns within the region.  The group also disseminates public health information to the practicing physicians within the region.

Group Overview

       The SRMD continue working to standardization of Standing Orders that would be utilized during a regional public health response.  Additionally, this group has worked towards the development of rapid communications systems to improve the dissemination of public health information to practicing physicians in the region, as well as the development of systems to collect information needed during mass dispensing operations.

Group Activities

Mission Statement:  The mission of the Southwest Region Medical Directors (SRMD) is to work collaboratively throughout the southwest Ohio region to provide excellence and consistency in medical leadership with respect to the investigation and response to infectious diseases and other public health challenges for the jurisdictions within the region.
